The roman concept of planning the city is also witnessed in so many cities around the globe. There was widespread structure building in cities by the Romans as it is the case in western world. Looking at the infrastructure system, there is much influence from the Romans. For example, roads in Rome had three layers before the outer paving stone and a drainage system where there was a lift on the roads at an angle. The sign posts we currently see in many western world roads were all started by the ancient Rome. These sign post today indicate the speed in which a vehicle should be drove, show danger ahead, and show the number of kilometers one has to drive to reach at a certain location and many more other information. There were also underground water pipes in the ancient Rome as it is seen today. The ancient Rome also had parks, plazas and libraries for the public just as it is seen today in so many countries.
